NIOS II Command Shell and Nios II SBT for Eclipse are not working under Windows 10 Pro 1903 in Quartus Prime Pro 19.2.

I get the following messages after launch Nios II Command Shell (Quartus Prime Pro 19.2):

I get nothing after launch Nios II Software Build Tools for Eclipse (Quartus Prime Pro 19.2). Searching the web gives the following solution: “Is the Nios® II Software Build Tools (SBT) for Eclipse included in the full installation of the Inte...”. After the required steps are met, the Nios II SBT is launched, but when creating a project, it issues:

Why not just post a step by step description of how to compile make in Windows 7 64, post some output of its operation, and clear everything up ? Also, can you describe what the series of failed process_begin's indicates ? Are they emanating from inside the make code or from executables invoked by make ?=================================================== process_begin: CreateProcess(NULL, uname, ...) failed. make: process_begin: CreateProcess(NULL, uname -a, ...) failed. make: process_begin: CreateProcess(NULL, cygpath C:zzz_13.12.1_gener make: process_begin: CreateProcess(NULL, pwd, ...) failed. make: process_begin: CreateProcess(NULL, basename "", ...) failed. make: process_begin: CreateProcess(NULL, pwd, ...) failed. make: process_begin: CreateProcess(NULL, basename "", ...) failed. make: '.' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. ... ===================================================== -----Original Message----- From: Eli ZaretskiiSent: Monday, January 13, 2014 8:51 PM To: Mark Brown Cc: [email protected] ; [email protected] Subject: Re: Re: win32 compilation of make 4.0 source code‏ From: "Mark Brown" Cc: Date: Mon, 13 Jan 2014 14:06:16 -0800 As mentioned I used Visual C++ 2005, loading the project file and building it: make_msvc_net2003.vcproj . This results in a make_msvc.net2003.exe of length 892 KB being created in the debug directory. Does this binary work if you invoke it from the cmd.exe prompt? But please make sure your Makefile invokes programs that are on Path, and try to avoid invoking Cygwin programs as much as possible. Also, I would suggest to remove Cygwin's sh.exe from Path, as Make on Windows always prefers to use a Unix shell if available. If Make doesn't work even under these circumstances, then something is broken. Otherwise, you could be experiencing some incompatibility between Cygwin and native Windows programs.

What does the error "Msmake.bat is not recognized as an internal or external command" mean and what could one do to overcome the error?

Cause

The error message will appear if the configuration settings are not correctly set for the compiler you have currently installed. For example, you may have Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 installed but the default samples are set for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.

Answer

If you have Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, Cygwin or others installed then what you will need to do is the following:

Open Components in the Rational Rhapsody BrowserUnder Components, open DefaultComponent (or a component that you created)Under the DefaultComponent, highlight DefaultConfig (or a config that you created)Right-Click and select "Features..."In the Features dialog, click the drop down beside the "Environment" and select "MSVC9" (see below).

Click OKTry the build again.

NOTE: If you are using Cygwin, then select Cygwin. If you are using Microsoft Visual Studio 2004 or lower then leave the default (Microsoft)

If the problem persists then please contact Rational Client Support as the issue may be related to other settings/configurations that will need further research.
